What You Should Know About Charging Your Phone
What is the meaning of 3A fast charging?
Most phones and other devices are capable of handling 5V/2.4A. For fast charging, you're looking at something that bumps the voltage up 5V, 9V, 12V, and beyond, or increases amperage to 3A and above. Keep in mind, your device will only take in as much power as its charging circuit is designed for.
Can I use 2A cable with 3A chargers?
3A cable simply good for 2A/5, 1A/10, and 3A/3v all perfectly fit in the current draw. A cable rating of 3A refers to the current it can TRANSFER without a significant voltage drop. Cables do not CONSUME current.
Is slow charging better than fast charging?
Yes, slow charging is better than fast charging, for battery health. Slower charging actually is better because there is less internal heat build-up. Temperature extremes, whether hot or cold, are never good for a battery.
Is it bad to charge your phone to 100 percent?
It may put your mind at ease when your smartphone’s battery reads 100 percent charge, but it’s actually not ideal for the battery. “A lithium-ion battery doesn’t like to be fully charged,”
In a perfect world, your battery never goes below 20 percent, and never above 80.
It's not deadly for your phone to be full, of course. But it will cause it to age slightly faster so it's good to avoid if you can!
